The World's First Heavy-duty EME Escalator Settled in Seoul Metro South Korea

The world's first heavy-duty EMEescalator was recently completed at Sillim

Station on Seoul Metro Line 2 in SouthKorea。

This is the first EME escalator in SouthKorea and the ninth EME escalator

produced by HANSON.

HANSON EME escalator retainsthe original truss and is embedded in amodular manner to update the originalescalator, greatly shortening the construction cycle on the site without anyimpact on the surrounding environment. Especially for places with large trafficflow such as subways, it retains the passage for passengers to enter and leavewith out any damage tothe building, making the escalator update project insubways a simple and safe work.

Seoul Metro Line 2 Sillim Station. surroundedby Seoul UniversitySeoul Education University,Chongshi University, and EaglePark,is an importanteducational and cultural Circle in Seoul,so Sillim Stationis an im portant passenger distribution center in this area.

The project of the Sillim Station EME has had no impact on the surroundingareas, and the update has been completed with highefficiency and quality.

South Korea hasextremely strict standards for on-site escalator acceptance, which requiresboth braking distance and acceleration requirements. The escalator was testedby the Korea Elevator Safety Administration and successfully passed the acceptance.

The installationteam consisted of five people, with a total construction period of 12days, andsuccessfully completed the"minimally invasivesurgeryof"installingescalators in escalators."
